Norwood had their official "Day of Signing" on Thursday, May 22nd and now have 10 student athletes who have signed to play sports next school year. Megan Grubb joins the list posted on the "College Commitment" page. She will be at Mt St Joe playing soccer and running track in the spring. The Lady Cardinals of Felicity lost in their effort to make it to the OHSAA Regional Finals in Division IV Wednesday night. But they need to be congratulated for the great representation they gave to our league and to their school. The SBAAC Boys Basketball Tournament was a big success on Saturday at Batavia HS with the American Division teams going against the National Division teams. The Girls SBAAC Basketball Tournament at Williamsburg High School was a big success. This tournament showcased the place finishers from each division against each other in head-to-head competition. Winners included: 6th place Amelia, 5th place Goshen, 4th place Bethel, 3rd place Western Brown, 2nd place Felicity, and 1st place New Richmond. Final scores - Blanchester with 175.5 points and Western Brown with 162.5 points. Also congratulations to Cohen Canter, 12, Amelia and Brandon Breezley, 12, Blanchester for their selection as "Wrestlers of the Year". Coach of the Year honors went to Wendel Donathan from Western Brown and Scott Nicely from Blanchester. Congratulations to Western Brown and Williamsburg Football Teams who have qualified for the OHSAA State Play-offs that begin this Friday night, November 8th. Both teams will host their first round games starting at 7:30 pm. Western Brown, #4 (Division III) will play Dayton Thurgood Marshall, #5. Williamsburg, #3 (Division VI) will play West Liberty-Salem, #6. Once again both games start at 7:30 pm. Good luck to both teams!
The SBAAC Cross Country Meet went very well with cooperation of the weather and many, many volunteers from the Bethel community. In the American Division, the HS School Girls and Boys 1st place finish was New Richmond. In the National Division, Batavia won the Boys race and Georgetown won the Girls race. Congratulations to Western Brown Girls Tennis who clinched the SBAAC Championship in the American Division and Blanchester who clinched the SBAAC Championship in the National Division as the regular season concludes. Western Brown finished with a record of 10 - 0 and Blanchester finished with a record of 6 - 0. Good luck to all SBAAC teams as they enter the OHSAA tournaments this week.
The SBAAC Cross Country Meet will be held on Saturday, October 12th at Bethel starting at 9AM. The course is between the Bethel Middle School and the Elementary School. The first race of the day is the HS Girls followed by the HS Boys at 9:45AM. The Middle School Invitational will begin immediately following the HS races.
In spite of a slight delay on Saturday due to weather, the SBAAC Golf Tournament was played. In the National Division, Georgetown won the team championship with senior, Trent Poe, awarded "Player of the Year". In the American Division, New Richmond won the team championship with junior, Chris Mazzaro, awarded "Player of the Year". Chris was also the Medalist for Saturday's tournament scoring 74. "Coaches of the Year" were Sherri Griffith from Georgetown and Phil Heflin from New Richmond. Click here to see the full results of the entire season. Congratulations to Amelia High School who was recently awarded the OHSAA Harold A Meyer sportsmanship award. Amelia High School is one of 16 schools in the state of Ohio to receive this award. This is the second year in a row that Amelia has received this award. Also congratulations to Norwood High School was received the "Respect the Game" honors from OHSAA. They were among 10 schools to receive this honor. Congratulations to both school who represent the SBAAC!

The results of the SBC Tennis Invitational at Blanchester are in! Congratulations to Blanchester Girls Tennis who was the top team scorer in the tournament. Final scores were: Blanchester 37, Western Brown 31, New Richmond 9, Amelia 7, Batavia 3, Bethel 2, Goshen 1.
