As you may or may not know, the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) has created an Eligibility Center. This is now another requirement, if chosen, of your student-athletes to register and get cleared. Many student-athletes and coaches overlook the NAIA and focus all their efforts on the NCAA rules and regulations.

Also, we have added NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics) and NJCAA (National Junior College Athletic Association) to our links page. Student-athletes who are looking to participate in sports at the next level, these links will be helpful information.

We want to take this opportunity to welcome Amelia High School and Middle School into the SBAAC. Located on Clough Pike just west of the village of Amelia, Amelia HS/MS is no stranger to the league. As a charter member of the league (formerly the CCL), Amelia membership was from 1919 to 1985. At that time, Amelia chose to leave the league and join the FAVC (Fort Ancient Valley Conference). Two years ago, the West Clermont Board of Education representing Amelia HS/MS made the decision to leave the FAVC at the end of the 2009 - 2010 school year and return to the SBAAC starting the 2010 - 2011 school year.

The Amelia HS/MS campus has undergone major changes and renovations which will allow for visiting schools to bring a great competitive edge to all of our league events. According to the OHSAA Directory, Amelia currently has 512 boys and 382 girls in enrollment. This will put Amelia in the American Division (Large Schools) of the SBAAC.

Amelia fields Varsity teams in all league sponsored sports and offers many extracurricular activities for their students to participate in. Amelia also has a strong parent/fan support group including various booster clubs and organizations that follow their sports teams to many of the away events.

To find out more about Amelia HS/MS you can "click" on their name in the left column on this page and it will take you to the Amelia HS/MS Website.

Once again, we say, "Welcome Amelia HS/MS to the SBAAC!"

Bud Phillips and Rick Wilson are retiring.  After 20+ years as Commissioner of the SBAAC (formerly the Clermont County League), Bud Phillips is retiring to spend more time with his grandchildren. He has always been a great supporter of high school sports and has worked tirelessly to bring about good changes to the CCL and SBAAC Conferences.

Rick Wilson will be leaving the Athletic Director's position at Bethel High School and also is looking forward to retirement. Rick has served the Bethel School District for the last 13 years and experienced the growth of their new athletic facilities and schools. Rick stated that he will have more time to travel now and looks forward to coming to SBAAC events and watching the schools compete.

Both men have served the SBAAC and will be missed. We wish them the best and look forward to seeing them around!
